• Shutterbugs from across the world converge at PEP Photo Summit in Hyderabad, Obama’s photographer Pete Souza delivers Keynote

Hyderabad, India, May 6, 2019 : PEP Photo Summit, 2019 – Asia’s biggest photography event is taking place in Hyderabad. The five day convention saw some of the biggest names of photography from across the world share their learnings and experiences with budding photographers and photography enthusiasts.

This year former white house photographer Pete Souza, fashion photographer Lindsay Adler, world renowned wedding photographer Joseph Radhik, veteran photographer from advertising world, Prashant Godbole, Photography Gurus Siva Haran, Auditya Venkatesh, Arjun Kamath among many others shared their craft with 1500+attendees from more than 150 cities across the world. The Summit is being held in Hyderabad from 3rd to 5th May.

There will also be day-long masterclasses and workshops for practicing photographers on 6th and 7th May 2019.PEP also hosted PEP Shots which saw several social media influencers talk about their journey from being a regular Instagram user to an influential one with millions of followers.

The keynote speaker at the summit was Pete Souza- Former Chief Official White House Photographer for Barack Obama and Ronald Regan. He has also covered the war in Afghanistan post 9/11 and the fall of Kabul. Pete spoke about his years with Barack Obama, showing the intimate side of the person behind the president’s office. He also drew parallels between Obama and Donald Trump presidency from his book “Shade.” He had earlier visited India with the former president and first lady during their presidency years. Pete also conducted a masterclass on how photographers and their work can be an eyewitness to history.

During the event, PEP co-founder Joshua Karthik said, “We don’t look at PEP as any ordinary conclave. It is a community where professionals, amateurs, enthusiasts meet and share their knowledge and experiences. Looking at the overwhelming response, we plan to hold many such summits across the country and reach to even larger groups of photography lovers and make them part of our community”

PEP was founded by Joseph Radhik, Joshua Karthik and Arjun Rajan, who are photographers and management graduates with over 30 years of corporate experience among themselves. Some of the past speakers at PEP include Pulitzer Prize Winner- Brian Smith, Roberto Valenzuela, Two Mann Studios, and many other national and international photographers.

Speaking about PEP, Pete Souza said, “It’s wonderful to see that the work I do has made such a global influence. I’m impressed with Joseph Radhik’s conviction towards PEP, which is what convinced me to come speak at the summit.

Joseph Radhik and Joshua Karthik, are also the co-founders of awarding winning brand “Stories by Joseph Radhik”. They are the photographers behind the well-celebrated weddings of Virat Kohli – Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra – Nick Jonas amongst many others. Joseph is an international award winning wedding photographer with his most notable achievements being: the first and only Indian to be chosen as a Global Ambassador for Sony, starting in a global ad campaign for Profoto, and being listed in GQ’s 50 Most Influential Young Indians for 2018.

Joshua Karthik is the youngest recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award 2016 XLRI for entrepreneurship. He began his career with a large MNC, where he spent 8 years across several stints in sales and marketing. In 2012, he and his brother founded “Stories by Joseph Radhik” to become one of the pioneers in the wedding photography industry in India.

Arjun Rajan has 8 years of international experience in managing large operations. A Procter & Gamble alumnus, his last stint was at P&G Geneva. He joined the brothers Joseph and Joshua to co-found PEP and runs the operations of the company. Their idea behind PEP Photo Summit was to go beyond the usual “conference” or “festival” or “seminar”. At the heart of PEP is something the founders take very seriously – curation.
